Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government has several regulations aimed at building the Job Market Information System to increase employment opportunities, the Manpower Ministry said.

“These regulations are interrelated in the context of increasing employment opportunities and improving human resources’ quality through vocational education and training that are relevant to labor market needs,” the ministry’s Secretary General Anwar Sanusi noted in a statement from the ministry on Wednesday.

Those regulations are Presidential Regulation Number 57 of 2023, Presidential Regulation Number 68 of 2022, and Manpower Minister’s Regulation Number 5 of 2024.

He explained that Presidential Regulation Number 57 of 2023 concerning Mandatory Reporting of Vacancies regulates the obligation for companies to report every job vacancy to the authorized agency.

The regulation aims to increase transparency and accessibility of information regarding job opportunities for the community.

"This obligatory reporting is expected to help reduce the unemployment rate and increase opportunities for job seekers to get a job that suits their skills and interests," he affirmed.

Meanwhile, Presidential Regulation Number 68 of 2022 concerning the Revitalization of Vocational Education and Vocational Training is a policy that aims to improve the quality of vocational education and training in the country.

"Through this regulation, the government is committed to increasing the relevance of the vocational curriculum to the job market needs, increasing the accessibility of vocational education for the community, as well as improving the quality of teaching staff and vocational education facilities," he remarked.

Manpower Minister’s Regulation Number 5 of 2024 on the Job Market Information System aims to provide data and information on the availability of skilled, productive, and competitive labor.

It also aims to enable job seekers to get accurate and up-to-date information on job opportunities, industry trends, and qualification requirements.
