Kupang, March (Antara NTT) - The Real Estate Indonesia (REI) of East Nusa Tenggara will build some 400 houses in 2017 for people from the low income group in the province, local REI Advisory Board Organization Chairman Bobby Liyanto stated.
"This year, we will build 400 more houses, with the hope that they would all be sold out, as was the case in 2016," Liyanto informed newsmen here on Monday.
According to Liyanto, the houses for people from the low income group in East Nusa Tenggara will be built this year in order to ensure the success of the central government`s one million housing program for poor families throughout Indonesia.
He explained that in 2016, the REI had built 300 houses, and they were all sold out at the time while the demand remained high.
"The enthusiasm among people in East Nusa Tenggara to purchase homes is so high that the REI in the province will try to build more houses this year," he added.
He said the down payment for a house is just Rp1.5 million, with an installment of only Rp900 thousand per month, so this will greatly assist the people of the low-income in the province to acquire their own homes.
