Kupang, E. Nusa Tenggara (AntaraNews NTT) - The government has put Labuan Bajo, Flores, E. Nusa Tenggara among four tourists destinations in top priority for development in the country.
Labuan Bajo will be visited by delegations to the meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in Bali in October this year on their way to the Komodo island.
Komodo Island is one of World`s seven wonders of Nature as the habitat of ancient dragon Komodo, which are not found in other place in the world, and Labuan Bajo is the main access to the island National Park.
Labuan Bajo has also been promoted in status under a Tourism Authority Body (BOP).
The small city will be one of the tourist destination areas to be visited by the IMF-World Bank delegates other than Lake Toba in North Sumatra, the Buddhist Borobudur Temple in Central Java, and Mandalika in Lombok.

A number of facilities in Labuan Bajo, therefore, would be built or renovated . A number of `mooring buoy` would be installed in 20 selected places for tourist boats away from coral ridges.
The installation of the mooring buoys is to be finished this year, head of the Tourism Promotion Division of the Tourism and Creative Economy Service Eden Klakik said here on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Forestry and Environment plans to build a garbage recycling plant in Labuan Bajo, to keep the city and the Komodo island clean of garbage mainly plastic garbage.

Labuan Bajo produces 112 cubic meters of garbage per day, he said.
