Bank Indonesia (BI) is working with the Indonesian Navy to organize Mobile Cash Expeditions in several leading, outermost, and lagging islands (3T) located in the provinces of Maluku and East Nusa Tenggara.
Ambon, Maluku (AntaraNews NTT) - Bank Indonesia (BI) is working with the Indonesian Navy to organize Mobile Cash Expeditions in several leading, outermost, and lagging islands (3T) located in the provinces of Maluku and East Nusa Tenggara.

Head of the BI Representative Office of Maluku Province Bambang Pramasudi informed Antara in Ambon on Wednesday (31/10) that the implementation of Mobile Cash activities will begin on Thursday (Nov 1) on Thursday, and the release ceremony will take place at the Main Base of the Navy (Lantamal) IX Ambon.

"Mobile Cash in question is offering new rupiah money in exchange for currency that has been worn out by several 3T islands` residents, who were never part of a money exchange process," he stated.

He highlighted Kesui Island, Tual Island, Jamdena Island, Leti Island, Wetar Island, Pantar, and finally Solor Island in East Flores Regency, NTT, as the would-be locations for the mobile cash expeditions.

The journey will start from Ambon City and end in Kupang City, precisely at Kupang Lantamal VII, on Nov 9 next month.

He explained that during BI`s Cash Expedition activities not only was currency in poor condition exchanged but awareness was also raised on the authenticity of the rupiah, especially relevant in the run-up to the presidential and vice presidential as well as the regional head elections.

Also implemented were social activities, such as free medication for the 3T regions` residents, who rarely received treatment.

During the free medical treatment, he revealed that two doctors and two nurses were on standby to offer treatment to the community on several islands.

Pramasudi further added that the activity was also a testament to the involvement of the state in matters related to the community on the 3T islands.
