Labuan Bajo, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - State-run electricity company PT PLN has installed a multi-layered electricity system at 16 venues that will host the series of events of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara.
"We have done our best to prepare the system. Moreover, a backup system has also been readied to ensure that the electricity flow is not cut off in the event of disruption to the main power supply," PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated in Labuan Bajo, Tuesday.
The company has applied the Zero Dawn Time (ZDT) electricity scheme by installing a multi-layered supply during the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
In the first layer, PLN is using a total of 70 Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) that are connected with the company's highly reliable electricity network in the second layer.
To better ensure the system's dependability, PLN has also prepared 31 mobile generators and 35 mobile substations in the third layer. The whole three-layer electricity security is available at the summit's two main venues: Meruorah Hotel and Ayana Hotel.
The three-layer security is also being ensured at several VVIP accommodations: Sudamala Resort, Plataran Komodo, Meruorah Komodo, Sylvia Hotel, Bintang Flores Hotel, La Prima Hotel, Komodo Airport Terminals, Airport VVIP, Tanamori MICE, and Waringin Peak.
Meanwhile, PLN will provide two-layer security at Komodo Hospital, Siloam Hospital, and security posts, such as the West Manggarai Resort Police, Labuan Bajo Naval Base, Komodo Military Command, Presidential Security Detail's accommodation, and the PLN Command Center.
According to Prasodjo, the electrical load in Labuan Bajo had started to increase, referring to a recorded 86.4 megawatts (MW) on Sunday (May 7) at 6:30 p.m. Central Indonesian Standard Time (WITA) and an increase of 3.1 MW in weekdays prior to the ASEAN Summit.
He forecast that the load would peak during the summit wherein it would reach up to 89.93 MW. However, he was confident that the company would be able to supply adequate electricity owing to its 105-MW supply power.
