Tropical cyclone Hilda creates impact on E Nusa Tenggara weather

Kupang (Antaranews NTT) - Tropical cyclone Hilda, which currently occurs in the waters north of Western Australia at 18.0 South Latitude and 122.1 East Longitude (about 820 km south of Rote), will have an impact on the weather in East Nusa Tenggara.
The impacts of the cyclone are moderate-heavy rain and high waves in South Timor Sea in East Nusa Tenggara, the Head of the Observation and Information Section of El Tari Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Kupang, Ota Welly Jenni Thalo, stated here on Thursday.
BMKG reported that based on the analysis, Hilda was in the waters north of Western Australia at 18.0 South Latitude and 122.1 East Longitude (about 820 kilometers south of Rote) on Wednesday (Dec 27) at 19:00 GMT+7.
The cyclone is moving southwest at 7 knots (13 kilometers/hours) away from the Indonesian territory. The lowest pressure was recorded at 985 millibars, with strength of 85 kilometers/hours (45 knots).
The 24-hour forecast (Dec 28, 2017 at 19:00 GMT+7) indicates that the cyclone is on the mainland of Western Australia at 20.0 South Latitude and 121.6 East Longitude (about 1,050 kilometers south of Rote Island).
The cyclone will be moving southwest, with a speed of 5 knots (10 kilometers/hours), away from the territory of Indonesia. The lowest pressure is 995 millibars, with a speed of 55 kilometers/hours (30 knots).
Hilda has created an impact on the weather in Indonesia in the form of moderate-intensity rain, which potentially occurs in the areas of East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara.
In addition, waves reaching a height of 1.25 to 2.50 meters are likely to occur in Bali Strait, Lombok Strait, southern Alas Strait, East Timor Sea of East Nusa Tenggara, East Java Sea, North East Java Sea, Bali Sea, Sumbawa Sea, Sumbawa, and western Flores Sea.
Waves reaching a height of 2.50 to 4.0 meters may also occur in the southern Sunda Strait, South Java waters, and the Indian Ocean, south of Banten, to East Nusa Tenggara.
