Kupang (ANTARA) - Commander of National Defense Forces (TNI), Admiral Yudo Margono, made a working visit to Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai district, East Nusa Tenggara Timur, to review the readiness level for the 2023 ASEAN Summit.
Ad interim head of information at Military Resort Command (Korem) 161/Wira Sakti, Major Inf. Arwan Minarta, told journalists in Kupang on Wednesday afternoon that Margono arrived at Komodo Airport and was greeted by Korem 161 Commander, Brigadier Gen. Febriel Buyung Sikumbang.
"He came here to inspect several places where the ASEAN Summit activities will take place," he said.
Margono arrived at Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo at 1:21 p.m. WITA (Central Indonesia Standard Time) on a Falcon Special Jet, he informed.
He was accompanied by a number of officials from the TNI Headquarters, namely Air Marshal Andiawan, Major Gen. Agus, Rear Admiral Julius, Brigadier Gen. Bosco, Brigadier Gen. Khairul Anwar, Navy Col. Amrin, Lt. Col. Emrico, Lt. Col. Roni, and Second Lt. Pas Riski.
Meanwhile, the military and police officials who greeted him upon his arrival included Korem 161 Commander, Brigadier Gen. Febriel Buyung Sikumbang; El Tari Airfield Commander, Air Commodore Aldrin Petrus Mongan; Naval Base VII Kupang Commander, Commodore I Putu Dharjhatna; El Tari Air Force Military Police Center Commander, Lt. Col. Yohanes Chandra; Military District 1612/Manggarai Commander; and West Manggarai Resort Police Head.
In addition to inspecting the readiness of the facilities in the region, he said, Margono and his entourage inspected several places that will be prioritized in terms of security measures during the ASEAN Summit, which will be held from May 9–11, 2023.
