Kupang, E.Nusa Tenggara (Antara NTT) - The participants of Sail Indonesia 2017 have departed from Darwin, Australia, on July 29, 2017, and are scheduled to arrive at Kupang Beach on August 5, 2017.
Head of the Promotion Division of East Nusa Tenggara Province`s Tourism and Culture office, Eden Klakik, noted in a statement to Antara here, Tuesday.
"In the evening, the participants will be treated to dinner," he stated. According to Klakik, there are 22 yachts of the Sail 2017 participants from several countries, including Australia. They will visit various tourist attractions in East Nusa Tenggara.
After about a week in Kupang, the participants will travel to various destinations in the island province before gathering in Labuan Bajo, which is a fishing town located at the western end of Flores in East Nusa Tenggara.
Klakik said each yacht has four to five people, so the total number of participants is over 100 people. He expressed hope that the people and local businesses would be able to garner benefits from this event by selling their handicrafts.
