"Two of the five planned power plant vessels are being operated in Indonesia. Thus, the economic relations between the two countries can strengthen," Gurbuz said here on Wednesday.
Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (Antara NTT) - Turkish Ambassador to Indonesia Sander Gurbuz has said that the operation of the power plant vessel in Kupang City reflects the strong relationship between Indonesia and Turkey.

"Two of the five planned power plant vessels are being operated in Indonesia. Thus, the economic relations between the two countries can strengthen," Gurbuz said here on Wednesday.

The Marine Vessel Power Plant, which can produce 12 MW of electricity, is anchored in the waters area of the Bolok Steam Power Plant in Kupang City.

Another power plant vessel that has arrived in Indonesia operates in the Amurung District of North Sulawesi Province.

According to Gurbuz, the other three ships are yet to come into the country. They will be operated in Mataram of West Nusa Tenggara, Belawan of North Sumatra, and Ambon of Maluku.

The ambassador believes the operation of these ships can help the government achieve its target of 35 thousand MW of electricity.

The power plant vessel in Kupang has been operational since December 16 and supplies electricity to the State Electricity Company or PLN.

The "Gokhan Bey" power plant vessel uses advanced technology to produce electricity. The "floating power plant" uses heavy fuel oil as feedstock but can also use liquefied natural gas.

Gurbuz said cooperation between the two countries can increase, particularly in the economic sector.
