Head of Sub-Division of Administration of the Komodo National Park Dwi Sugiarto stated that the number of tourist arrivals in Komodo Park from January to June 2018 had reached 80,598 people.
Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (AntaraNews NTT) - Head of Sub-Division of Administration of the Komodo National Park Dwi Sugiarto stated that the number of tourist arrivals in Komodo Park from January to June 2018 had reached 80,598 people.

"During the Jan-June 2018 period, the number of visitors reached 80,598. We estimate that the number of visits this year will increase as compared to the previous year," he remarked here on Thursday (5/7).

Visitors chiefly comprised foreigners totalling 47,987, while the number of domestic tourists reached 32,611 people. "This number is also higher than the January-June 2017 period during which only 57,783 visitors were recorded," he added.

Sugiarto has estimated the flow of tourists to be higher in the subsequent six months from July-December 2018 due to the peak tourist season. He explained that the peak of the regular season will last until August, but for this time, it could be until October due to the annual meeting of the IMF-World Bank in Bali.

The Komodo National Park tourism destination is one of the leading tour packages offered to the delegates from hundreds of countries that will attend the meeting. "Hence, this year we predict the flow of tourists to Komodo to be much higher than before, due to the peak season and also international events to be held," he added.
