Kupang, E. Nusa Tenggara (AntaraNews NTT) - The government has put Labuan Bajo, Flores, E. Nusa Tenggara among four tourists destinations in top priority for development in the country.
Labuan Bajo will be visited by delegations to the meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in Bali in October this year on their way to the Komodo island.
Komodo Island is one of World`s seven wonders of Nature as the habitat of ancient dragon Komodo, which are not found in other place in the world, and Labuan Bajo is the main access to the island National Park.
Labuan Bajo has also been promoted in status under a Tourism Authority Body (BOP).
The small city will be one of the tourist destination areas to be visited by the IMF-World Bank delegates other than Lake Toba in North Sumatra, the Buddhist Borobudur Temple in Central Java, and Mandalika in Lombok.

Eden said garbage has become a serious problem in Labuan Bajo and tourists and other visitors to the city have often complained about it.
Labuan Bajo produces 112 cubic meters of garbage per day, he said.
Head of the Komodo National Park produces 650 kilograms of garbage per day and 27 percent of which are plastic brought in by tourists.
