Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (AntaraNews NTT) - Indonesia`s men`s national handball team is reviewing its strategy and tactics in the run up to the 18th Asian Games scheduled to be held from Aug 18 to Sept 2 in Jakarta and Palembang.
"Preparations have, so far, been going well. The men`s team is now in Bandung to finalize its strategy and tactics ahead of the Asian Games," head coach Arif Hidayat stated here on Wednesday (18/7).
Hidayat noted that the program was outlined following their trial match in Thailand in April. The result was encouraging, so various preparations will continue to be made to ensure that they can deliver the best result in the upcoming Asian Games.
"We, especially the athletes, will certainly wish for the best," he noted. Hidayat remarked that the women`s team is currently participating in trials in Vietnam.
Some 13 countries will take part in the men`s event, while 10 nations will participate in the women`s event.
Speaking in connection with the targets, Hidayat said he will not set high standards but will view all countries as serious contenders. "We must be careful, as all teams will certainly want to win," he added.
