President calls on youngsters to apply Pancasila's values

Ende, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo has called on youngsters to implement Pancasila's values at the commemoration of the birth of Pancasila at the Pancasila Square, Ende District, East Nusa Tenggara.

"From the City of Ende, I call on all Indonesian people everywhere to jointly involve and actualize the noble values of Pancasila in the life of the society, nation, and state," the president noted in his address at the Pancasila Square, Wednesday morning.

Jokowi stated that Pancasila not only unites the community but also becomes a guiding beacon when the nation faces problems. This has been proven several times in the course of the life of the nation and state when people practice the values of Pancasila as a moral basis.

Ende is the historic city, where Indonesia's founding father Sukarno or popularly known as Bung Karno contemplated on and formulated Pancasila.

On this commemoration day, the president reminded the public to truly practice the values of Pancasila and fight for a system of society, nationhood, and state based on these values.

The head of state also urged bureaucrats to implement good governance that allows interactions among people.

"This is our collective duty. It is the duty of all components of the nation to make Pancasila a working ideology, whose presence and benefits are felt by all Indonesian people," the president stated.

The head of state also noted that the COVID-19 pandemic still impacted the situation in the world that was experiencing energy, food, poverty, and war crises.

Hence, Indonesia, which holds the mandate of the 2022 G20 Presidency, calls on all developed countries to build a global health system that can face future crises.

"Of course, we need healthy, humane, and fair governance," he stated.

The president also called on all government, religious, and community leaders, as well as other leaders to become role models in actualizing the values of Pancasila.

"Let us strengthen the values of Pancasila to realize an advanced Indonesia and the ideals of the proclamation of independence," according to President Joko Widodo.
