Kupang, E Nusa Tenggar (AntaraNews NTT) - Manggarai Flores Arabica coffee (AFM) is a big hit with visitors at the Intellectual Property Expo 2018, according to the Head of the Agriculture and Plantation Office of NTT, Yohanes Tay.
"The visitors` response to our Manggarai Flores Arabica coffee is very good, and there are direct business contacts with business actors and cafe owners in Jakarta," he said.
Tay said the NTT Government was grateful to the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, which gave AFM the certificate of geographical indication as well as included it in the Intellectual Property Expo 2018 currently on at the National Monument (Monas) Park, Jakarta.
He also expressed his gratitude for the hard work of farmer groups and the NGOs that helped them so that AFM successfully entered the international market.
According to Tay, AFM was actually similar to the Bajawa Flores Arabica coffee (AFB). This type originated from the Manggarai District, Flores, where the plantations were at the same height as the plantations of Bajawa District.
