Kupang (Antara NTT) - Participants of Sail Indonesia 2017 from Darwin, Australia, have begun departing from the East Nusa Tenggara provincial city of Kupang for other areas to visit numerous tourist attractions in the province.
"Since this morning, some of the sail participants have left Kupang for Wini Port in Timor Tengah Utara District to visit the tourist attractions there," local Culture and Tourism Office Chief for the Promotion Division Eden Klakik remarked here on Monday.
He said 22 yachts participating in Sail Indonesia 2017 had arrived in Kupang, and some of them that had reached first left earlier, while the rest are still in Kupang and will probably depart on Tuesday morning.
"They will be in East Nusa Tenggara for around a month before gathering in Labuan Bajo at the end of August to continue their journey to another part in Indonesia," Klakik revealed.
Trent Rigney, one of the sail participants from the US, expressed delight on being able to enjoy his visit to Kupang and the rest of the tourist attractions.
"We are happy to see that the small children here want to study English with us, and it is great," Rigney remarked.
Klakik also called on the community in East Nusa Tenggara to demonstrate hospitality to all tourists visiting the area, so that they will revisit with their families the next time.
