"I am committed to making the tourism sector as the main driver of the NTT economy," Victor said here on Tuesday (11/9).
He said regional development during his five year term would be focused on development of tourism, human resources, people`s welfare, infrastructure and reform of the bureaucracy.
The tourism sector would be the main driver of economic development as the prospect is more encouraging with the availability of world class tourism potentials, he said.
He pointed to the Komodo National Park , the island of Sumba said be the most beautiful island in the world, the Lake Kalimutu in Ende, the Marine Park of Alor, unique local cultures and many other natural riches.

He said tourism development does not merely mean development of hotels and restaurant, but also transfer of human cultures.
"Therefore, development covers all aspects of life, food,, drinks, clothes , cleanliness , etc," he said.
Regional regulation would be issued on aspect of cleanliness, he said, adding, there would be no garbage thrown anyplace, and violation of the regulation will face a fine of Rp50,000.
Meanwhile, Southeast Sulawesi Governor Ali Mazi said he had discusses possibility of cooperation in tourism development with his NTT counterpart.
Southeast Sulawesi and NTT have much in common, Ali said who was in Kupang to attend the ceremony handing over of the gubernatorial post to Victor by his predecessor.
